Amanda's Challenge, Madge #3

You know, one of the main reasons I just LOVE Madge, is her sense of humour. She is hilarious. Can be very dry. But she cracks me up.... here is her third response.

Well "Amanda's Challenge" has really got the brain working....might need to increase the fish oil intake to complete this challenge though..!!!

Amanda's Challenge - Madge #3

Something many of you wouldn't know about me is that it was my hairdresser who told me that I was pregnant with my son Luke....I had gone to get my hair permed..yes a perm was THE thing 22 yrs. ago. 

(For those of you too young to know what a perm is - A permanent wave, commonly called a perm, involves the use of chemicals to break and reform the bonds of the hair. The hair is washed and wrapped on a perm rod and waving lotion is applied with a base. This solution creates a chemical reaction that softens the inner structure of the hair by breaking some of the cross links within and between the protein chains of the hair. The hair swells, stretches and softens, then molds around the shape of the perm rod.)

We thought we were gorgeous...

Anyway, I went to get my hair permed AND within a few days it had dropped out....so I went back to get it done again....and again it didn't take. My hairdresser asked me if I was pregnant...I laughed...

(BUT due to the rise in hormones there is no telling how your hair will react. it may cause uneven curls, no curl, or even patches of curl, and then again it might not due anything and you could end up with a great perm.)

Well, I WAS pregnant and my life changed for the better with the birth of my son Luke 01/06/1990
