The Fire Is Still A Burnin, Margaret River

Our first tour today of the fire devastated Margaret River area. I only took a couple of photos out of respect to the community. I went with my girlfriend Noofi and we were both speechless, shocked and saddened.

We wanted to support the local cafes, so had a lovely coffee and coconut + almond cake overlooking the sea at The White Elephant, Gnarabup. You can still smell the charred earth and the bush flies had blown in on the strong easterly.

Headed off to check out the cafe at McHenrys Farm. Caves Rd, not far from the turn off to Wallcliffe Rd. They were a bit vague about opening times and apparently they are changing the name. You might have to call them to confirm times, but they do a lunch, Wednesday to Sunday???? You can buy vacu packed meats and they have a cellar door for their wines. Looks good. Will try it with Noofi another day.
